I met with a Neurologist Friday. I'll call her DrB for short. It turns out that the EMG I had SIX MONTHS AGO had significant findings of muscle damage!! So thanks, PCP, for sitting on that information and doing nothing with it...all the while telling me, "It will get better over time." Oh heyeck no! That was when I asked to see DrB and, obviously had I not, this information would have never come to light.
Basically, I am my own doctor. Months ago, we asked PCP if the Brachial Plexus (BP) could have something to do with my pain. He didn't know what we were talking about and basically dismissed us and one time told me to stop getting advice from friends (though I did my own research online). But then I get to DrB's office and guess which specific nerve group she mentions, and wants to do an EMG and MRI on??? THE BRACHIAL PLEXUS!!! We also asked another doctor about the BP, and he, too, didn't know what it is. And they are all too proud to admit they are wrong, or that they don't know. And you know what's funny? You can easily go online and find tons of websites of the human anatomy, and the BP is clearly highlighted. I am very disgusted with the whole thing. Ha!
::happier voice::But the good news is that I feel like I am finally moving forward again in my treatment instead of sitting at a standstill. These new test results may be the key to me finally getting a diagnosis! And then I will throw a diagnosis party. Ha! So thank goodness Ryan & I followed our instincts.

Ugh - I can't STAND doctors who don't listen to you or brush you off (and there are so many, it seems.)
Sounds like your neurologist knows what she's doing, at least.
Here's to a diagnosis!
Ugh - doctors. I swear we all need to be our own. Good luck getting a diagnosis - sounds like your neurologist might just become your new PCP!!
Hope your pain gets better soon, and you enjoy your new car.
PROMPTINGS! Glad you listened...hope this all goes well and you find out what it is and how to get help. Good luck as you pursue treatment and options! You're in my prayers
I am so glad that you kept on it until you found some answers. Good luck with the tests and I really do hope you get answers that will help you heal.
A good PCP is hard to find! Hope your neurologist continues to figure it all out for you!
How frustruating! I'm so glad you were able to get in with this doctor. I really hope she can help you find relief to this pain!!
